If you are unsure what you are looking for, you can always have a look at our
list containing a few of the most famous whisky styles:
Scotland is the home to the most famous distilleries in the world, including
Macallan, Glenfiddich or Laphroaig, between many others. Considered one of the
pioneering styles of whisky, Scotch is globally renewed and appreciated. From
sherried, dry, Highland single malts, to smooth and fruity Speyside or coastal
and peated Islay, there is surely a bottle to suit every taste!
Undoubtedly a highly popular style, Irish whiskey is traditionally triple
distilled, offering a smoother and more refined flavour profile, making it
ideal for anyone that’s new to whisky. Honey sweetness, fruits, and slight
malty notes tend to be present on the palate.
Although a new style, Japanese whisky quickly became appreciated worldwide.
The father of Japanese whisky, Masataka Taketsuru, travelled to Scotland in
1918 where he learnt the distillation techniques. The flavour profile tends to
be unique and floral, with herbaceous, cherry blossom, honeyed notes.
Compared to the other styles, American whiskey has numerous categories, each
with their own character. Whether is Bourbon with vanilla and toffee notes,
spicy Rye or the fast-growing American Single Malt category.
