Description
This single grain whisky was made with diverse unblended whisky brewing techniques and master craftsmanship developed over many years at the Chita Distillery in Aichi Prefecture.
The design features black calligraphy that expresses the distinctive qualities of Japanese whisky set on a white Japanese washi paper label representing the light flavour.
Extremely rare offerings aside, Suntory hasn't bothered to bottle much of anything from Chita as a single grain.
Its one domestic core range product, the Chita Grain (which was already a limited-production bottling), all but disappeared as demand for Hibiki expanded.
Initially released for the Japanese market in September 2015, beginning in July 2016, it will be available at select travel retail and duty free outlets.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Light and fresh. Coconut, citrus blossoms, and honeyed cereal aromas bring us to the palate.
Palate: Thick honey, smooth vanilla, and cake spice.
Finish: The medium finish is lead by gentle spice oak. A satisfying easy-drinking single grain whisky by the great Suntory.
