Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides.
The Isle of Skye is renowned for its rich, varied landscape – from its soft, serene shores to the dark, jagged peaks of the Cuillin mountains.
Talisker Skye is the distillery’s ode to these appealing contrasts, with a smoky sweetness, maritime notes and a spicy edge.
This amazing expression is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher proportion of toasted casks.
This single malt whisky can be described as smokey sweet, with a delicate hint of a sea salt, autumnal fruits and a lovely warm and spicy finish and in a handy 5cl bottling, your journey starts here!
Tasting Notes
Nose: The first glorious citrus sweetness of fresh oranges develops into soft mango. Maritime air with seaweed, driftwood and salt continue under.Palate: Soft and sweet at first, coating and tongue tingling, with light smoke. Quickly becomes more pungent and savoury with a hot spiciness.Finish: Drier and of medium-length, with a lasting, smooth aftertaste, in which light peaty burnt embers can be found.
