Vodka
The first historical records of the term “vodka” were used in a court document in 1405 in Poland, but the origins of the spirit are uncertain, as Russia and Poland have long-running disputes over its creation. Clear in colour and with a neutral flavour, vodka can be made from a variety of crops. Soon after World War II its popularity began to spread across the globe. Smirnoff is the oldest vodka brand, dating back to 1864.
Typical style: Either consumed chilled, in small glasses or as a mixer, vodka is highly popular because of its neutral, pure character and clean flavour profile.
