If the name wasn’t a big enough giveaway for you, Islay distillers Ian Macleod really are not messing around when it comes to Smokehead.








If you like smoke and peat, your head should be nodding along quite amicably as you drain a glass of Smokehead.


There’s more going on here though, as notes of cocoa and honeyed sweetness offer a counterpoise to all that power and carnage.

Tasting Notes


Nose:Smoke! Lapsang souchong. Cool wood smoke. Thick and full. Palate: Big, puckering peat. Smoky, fruity sweetness, touch of sherry, sultana. Herbal. Finish:Herbal, tangy fruits and more peat smoke.
