Description
Pickering's Gin is distilled by hand and is based on the original Bombay Gin recipe before being wax sealed in black wax.
Bottled at 57.1% for a pinch more punch, the higher strength actually brings out the sweeter botanicals such as cardamom, anise and fennel.
Affectionately known as the bearskin gin, this gin was released this expression to celebrate becoming official gin of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Huge waves of fresh juniper and dried peels. Incredibly vibrant. Slightly vegetal – sugar snap peas?
Palate: Fragrant mandarin and rich, earthy orris. The bumped-up ABV brings exotic spiciness to the fore after a few sips.
Finish: Liquorice root, black pepper and a touch of cumin powder.
