This 2023 release has been matured in a first-fill sherry hogshead (cask #6863)
In 2005, Gordon & MacPhail took possession of this Macallan’s precious new make spirit and aged it in their own carefully selected and crafted casks from Jerez, Spain. It’s just been bottled and received the ultimate accolade of being a coveted Speymalt.
Since 2018, Gordon & MacPhail has released 'Speymalt from Macallan Distillery' only occasionally, and only in selected worldwide markets.
The Speymalt from Macallan distillery range includes a series of exceptional single malts, each matured in the highest quality casks selected by Gordon & MacPhail.
Part of a limited release of 409 bottles, this whisky was bottled at a strength of 58.5% abv.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Fruitcake aromas with rich orange zest and dark chocolate.
Palate: The palate has sweet stewed fruit, brown sugar and blackcurrant leaves.
Finish: Lingering finish of charred oak.
