This Seleccion de Maestros is a relaunch of Havana Club's 'Cuban Barrel Proof Edition,' with a new eye-catching packaging and bottled at 45% for that extra kick!
The Gold Medal-winning liquid remains the same as for the old Cuban Barrel Proof - and as the name suggests, the casks have been hand-picked by the maestros roneros from the company's finest aged stocks.
The rums selected by the maestros roneros are finished in special casks chosen for their aromatic properties before being bottled at a higher strength (45%) than the standard range for a more intense, immediate flavour throughout the palate and finish.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Light with caramel, toasted pecan and spice aromas which reveals more robust origins with tobacco aromas and the presence of wood character.
Palate: A round entry leads to a complex, flavourful, full-bodied palate of delicious dark caramel, cocoa, coffee, tobacco and a kick of spice.
Finish: Pleasantly smoky oak and spice finish blended with caramelised fruits, each well balanced.
