Description
A 35cl bottle of Gordon's Special Dry London Gin, sealed with a spring cap closure.
The brand was established by Alexander Gordon, who founded his distillery in Southwark in 1769.
The label carries a royal warrant by appointment to Her Majesty the Queen.
Please note, there is no size stated on the labels but this appears to be a 37.5cl bottle.
We estimate this was bottled in the 1950s.
Please note as this is a vintage bottle, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).
Tasting Notes
Nose: Heavy with pine-laden juniper, with a peppery/resinous undertone. Coriander lurking on the edges as well, with a slight hint or citrus and a menthol character. Quintessentially classic.
Palate: Similar to the nose. Bright piny juniper, with hints of coriander, lemon zest. Earthy spice, a hint of angelica, a touch of baking spice and a glow that slightly calls to mind a middle ground between licorice and mint.
Finish: The finish is medium-long in length with an unmistakable juniper burst, but there’s some complexities and complications which emerge that challenge the notion that Gordon’s is a one-note gin.
