Description
Diageo's Distillers Edition collection features some of the brand's prominent distilleries. They are made by taking a core bottling from the distillery featured as the base and giving it a secondary fortified wine maturation.
For the second maturation, bespoke barrels are created with recharred American oak bodies and charred cask heads made from new American oak.
These casks are filled with the fortified wine for a month and then dumped. Then the core offering from one distillation year rests for up to six month.
Cragganmore - The Distillers Edition is double-matured in Port cask wood, expertly chosen to marry succulence and depth with the signature malty, smoky flavours, and finesse of Cragganmore.
It has a deep-fruited sweetness, rich in complexity, and a drying oak-smoked finish.
Distillery: Cragganmore
Banffshire, Scotland
Cragganmore distillery, on the banks of the river Spey, is home to one of the most complex and characterful malt whiskies of the Speyside region.
In 1869, Big John Smith – said to have been the most experienced distiller of his day. He lobbied for a railway siding, and using this, his business acumen and skill as a distiller, turned Cragganmore into a popular, high-quality single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet (jelly beans), malty. Fruitier, juicier than the regular bottling. A hint of smoke.
Palate: Firm, sweet, with smoky undertones and fruitiness. Malt, oak, and smoke at the base. Intriguingly two-tiered.
Finish: Medium to long with fine, oaky expressions, from bananas and vanilla to cocoa. Much drier than it began.
