Description
Introducing a bottling of 8 Year Old Blair Atholl, an excellent Highland Scotch dram bottled in 1970's.
This fairly old Blair Athol bottling bears striking similarities in terms of tasting notes to the current 12 Year old.
Today, Blair Athol is the spiritual home of Bell's whisky with only 5% of the whisky produced at the distillery retained as single malt with the rest being incorporated into the UK’s most popular blended whisky.
Blair Athol Distillery is located at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in the picturesque town of Pitlochry in Perthshire.
It is one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. Founded in 1798 by John Steward and Robert Robertson, it was originally named 'Aldour', after the Allt Dour burn the distillery draws it water from.
Please note as this is a vintage whisky, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Please note, damage to box.
Distillery: Blair Athol
Pitlochry, Scotland
Blair Athol Distillery stands at the gateway to the
Scottish Highlands in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, Perthshire.
Set in open moorland south of the town, in the
foothills of the Grampian mountains, Blair Athol’s ancient source of water –
the Allt Dour – flows through the grounds from the slopes of Ben Vrackie,
contributing to the whisky’s, mellow quality and smooth finish.
