Aberlour's A'bunadh Alba is a Scottish expression from the heart of Speyside that pays homage to the necessity of American produce in whisky making.
A Bunadh Alba is matured in ex American Oak resulting in an aroma of ripe red apples, along with honey, vanilla and a hit of cinnamon.
A Bunadh is cask strength which means that it comes out of the cask and is bottled at whatever ABV it is when it is taken out of the cask. This is why the Batch number and ABV can't be specified.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet, with a pronounced aroma of ripe red apples along with honey, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon.
Palate: Sweet, with a creamy, oily texture. As the whisky opens up elements of citrus zest, cinnamon and dried apple emerge.
Finish: Long, sweet, with a pronounced pepperiness.
