Aberfeldy is the only distillery built by the Dewar family. Initially intended as an ingredient for their Blended Scotch, a team of 12 operators are focussed on crafting a Single Malt with fruity and honeyed aromas.
Aberfeldy is usually matured in a range of cask types giving complexity. Aberfeldy has approachable orange and honey flavours when young, over time subtle floral and spiced aromas can emerge.
Tasting Notes
Nose: The wonderful aroma of the whisky drenched barrels.
Palate: The Aberfeldy 21 is a sweet, honeyed whisky, with a lovely vanilla and oak character. Lots more cask influence compared to the 12, but it doesn’t dominate.
Finish: Somewhat subtle with citrus zest and some maltiness lingering throughout.
