Description
Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky is treasured around the world as one of the most special of all Single Malts.
After the wonderful reception that the 200th Edition received when it was released in 2016, the Islay-based distillers decided to add this delicious expression to their permanent core range!
Aged exclusively in refill American oak casks, Lagavulin 8 Year Old is said to be “magnificently full” with tasting notes of charred, minty, dark chocolate, and sweet, smoky and warming flavours.
Lagavulin distillery manager Georgie Crawford said: ‘The 8 Year Old is a signature Lagavulin-style bottling with a liveliness that balances out the Islay smokiness.

Distillery: Lagavulin
Isle of Islay, Scotland
Sat between Ardbeg and Laphroaig on the south coast of Islay, Lagavulin has a history of disagreements and lawsuits. Founded in 1816, a year after Laphroaig, it has been in fierce competition with its nearest neighbour ever since.
Lagavulin Distillery is thought to be one of the longest established distilleries in the country.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Immediately quite soft with clean, fresh notes, faint hints of milk chocolate and lemon – developing fragrant, tea-scented smoke alongside nose-drying, maritime aromas.
Palate: A magnificently full on Lagavulin taste that’s somehow even bigger than you expect, and charred, with minty, dark chocolate.
Finish: A clean, long and smoky finish – subtle, minted smoke, chocolate tannins and finally warming, leaving the palate dry as sweet smoke lingers on the breath.
