Description

If you were travelling through time, whether by phone booth (à la Bill & Ted), by superpower (à la Heroes) or by accident (à la Lost... ), what would you bring back from the past?

If your answer was "some awesome spirits and liqueurs" then you are in luck, as the Antique Spirits and Liqueurs Tasting Set means you can sample some spectacular treats from yesteryear in this very year in which you reside!

Antique Spirits & Liqueur Tasting Set contains:
Campari Bitter - 1960s
Cinzano Sweet Red Vermouth - 1970s
Gordon's London Dry Gin - 1970s
James Buchanan’s Black & White Blended Scotch Whisky - 1970s
Drambuie - 1960s

Contents of the set are subject to change. However, rest assured that whichever dram set you order will include 5 superb drams which will either match or exceed the value of what is listed.

Tasting Notes

Campari Bitter: Aroma: Aged blood orange peel, orange sherbot, ruby red grapefruit, lemon thyme and herbal woodyness. Taste: Herbaceous quinine bitterness balanced nicely with syrupy sweetness flavoured with more blood orange zest, mint, cherry and honey. Aftertaste: Long and lingering quinine and zesty orange which slowly fades. Cinzano Sweet Ruby Red Vermouth:
Nose: Bitter cherry, sweet red-berry fruit, plus dates and damsons.

Palate: Bittersweet – nice balance. Dates, cherries, rich texture. Subtle herbiness, with plenty of sweet spice.

Finish: The bittersweet cherries linger. Not too sweet, which is ideal, but still makes a statement with its rich fruit. Gordon's London Dry Gin:
Nose: Heavy with pine-laden juniper, with a peppery/resinous undertone. Coriander lurks on the edges with a slight hint or citrus and a menthol character.

Palate: Similar to the nose, piny juniper, with hints of coriander, lemon zest.

Finish: Medium long with an unmistakable juniper burst and earthy spices. James Buchanan’s Black & White Blended Scotch Whisky:
Nose: Medium Sweet, Oak, Biscuits, Rather Sharp Grain Alcohol, Vinegar, Touch of Peat. Taste: Rough and Tough. Grain, alcohol and some sugared dried fruits. There is also a hint of oak and pepper.

Finish: Short. Sharp grain alcohol, a little oak and vanilla. Drambuie:
Nose: Intriguing herbal/medicinal nose, with notes of pepper, grass, dried hay, fried flowers, orange peel, and licorice.

Palate: Sweet but lively, the orange explodes and the whisky boldy appears, wrapped in honey and her.

Finish: Herbal and sweet. Overall, quite complex and rewarding.

Brought these because I thought the bottles were cute. I can't tell you which taste the best because they didn't last me long but I now use the bottles as little travel accessories as I spent most of my life in various hotels.
