Description Ref # GPTASTEOFISL

This Taste of Islay Miniature Gift Pack contains 1x5cl of the following

Finlaggan
Finlaggan is very much the best kept secret of Islay as the name of the distillery from which is is produced is known only to a select few in the whisky trade. The style of Finlaggan is decisively Islay, reflecting notes of seaweed, smoky peat and a spicy crescendo on the finish

Bowmore 12 year old
An award winning 12 year old single malt that has received much critical acclaim. The colour is warm amber and on the nose you'll pick up the trademark Bowmore peaty smokiness along with subtle notes of lemon, honey and chocolate

Laphroaig 10 year old
Another award winning Islay malt, this10 year old reflects an earthy aroma of the blue peat smoke, the sweet nuttiness of the barley and a delicate heathery perfume of Islay's streams

Tasting Notes

Finlaggan:
Decisively Islay with notes of seaweed, a smoked peat and a spicy kick of crescendo on the finish.

Bowmore 12 Year Old:
Nose: Coastal smoke and ash soon pave the way for bergamot, citrus orange zest and lemon slices, some hay before a floral hint kicks in as heather smoke now competes with the ash.
Palate: Lovely and rounded. A honey hint to it, initially as vanilla then comes through and coastal elements develop. Dark Peat, blossom before finally an oily sweetness.
Finish: Smoky and long.

Laphroaig 10 Year Old:
Colour: Full sparkling gold.
Nose: A huge full bodied smoke, seaweedy and slightly medicinal with a hint of sweetness.
Palate: Yet more sweetness, this time a more surprising sweetness with hints of salt and layers of peatiness.
Finish: Lingering.
