Description
On the west coast of the Isle of Arran lies a windswept and mystical peat bog called Machrie Moor.
Bronze Age stone circles and standing stones are strewn across its barren, undulating terrain. One of the stone circles is known as Fingal’s Cauldron Seat, where sits a stone with a carved hole.
The legendary warrior giant Fingal is said to have tethered his favourite dog Bran to this stone.

This new 10 year old release of Machrie Moor - our iconic Peated Arran Single Malt produced at Lochranza Distillery- now joins our Machrie range, and will be bottled in very small quantities every year.

Production began at Arran’s first distillery in beautiful
Lochranza almost 30 years ago. Many
other locations were considered at the time, but the proximity to Loch na Davie
provided a rather special source of fresh water for distilling.
Knowing this would hold up in good stead for years to
come, a second distillery opened in the south of the island in 2019 at Lagg,
where a very unique style of peated single malt is created.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich sweet spiced notes from a well matured Arran Single Malt, backed with the strength of peat smoke and ripe citrus fruits.
Palate: Warming, balanced and rich. This whisky embodies all the classic fresh style of Arran 10 Year Old with a twist of peat smoke in the tail. A sweetness lies beneath the spice and the layer of sweet smoke adds intensity.
Finish: Long lasting, memorable and intense. Soak up the atmosphere of one of Arran’s most majestic and beautiful landscapes.
