Description

Winner of a Gold Medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2018!

Country: Scotland
Region: Highland
70cl/44%
Body: Medium to full

A welcome return from a much revered single malt whisky – and a fine dram whether you drink it with its intended purpose in mind or not. This whisky is rich and inviting with flavours of tropical fruits, banana toffee, cinnamon spice and red fruits.

The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve is actually a reworking of the original Dalmore Cigar Malt which was discontinued in 2009.

The new version is significantly different, incorporating older stocks and a more adventurous ageing process with multiple casks adding to this whisky’s distinct character.

Bottled at 44% alcohol by volume, the body, structure and character of this extraordinary expression is the perfect complement to a fine Cuban cigar, in particular the Partagas Series P No.2.

Wood Portrait:
Matured initially in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts, it is then finessed in premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques.

Awards
The Dalmore Cigar Malt won a Silver Award at the International Spirits Challenge 2014 in the Distillers Single Malt 12 Years and Under category and also a Silver Award at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2014 in the Scotch Single Malt – Highland category.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Caramel, shortbread, biscuits, coffee and chocolates with an aroma of cinnamon, vanilla and red fruits.

Palate: Yet more toffee, caramel edging towards the burnt cinder-toffee side of things. Flamed orange-zest, vanilla ice cream and perfectly integrated sherry.

Finish: Reasonably simple, Christingles (orange Zest and clove with a touch of cinnamon), more mid-palate than palate-coating before finally, crushed spices.
